top 10 best selling tip darts of the year

The time has come to say goodbye to 2025. What better way to wrap up the year than to find out which steel tip and soft tip darts you all loved the most? Our Top 10 Best Selling Darts of the Year combines all of your darts journeys together in one celebratory list, where we say thank you for all the support you've shown our business in the past year.

Without further ado, enjoy our top 10 best selling darts of 2025 and find out if your favorites made the list (plus a few honorable mentions at the end). Spoiler alert - you won't believe #7 for soft tip!

TOP 10 BEST SELLING DARTS OF THE YEAR

Like our monthly top 10 lists, we decided to exclude all darts from any product launches, special promotions, and Dart of the Month purchases from the data collected for our best selling darts of the year. Those sales will typically show a higher level of units sold than what would be considered “average,” which would skew our data with biased numbers. We're dedicated to providing a true representation of your top 10 best selling darts for this year!

You might already be familiar with our monthly top 10 best selling darts lists for steel tip and soft tip, but in case this is your first time discovering our ongoing series, make sure to check out our Top 10 Best Selling Steel Tip & Soft Tip Darts lists below:

#1. BEST IN FLIGHT

Colonial Jen Mounts Omega Steel Tip (23g) & Soft Tip (18g)

Month after month, you guys have consistently shown your overwhelming love for these darts, so it comes as no surprise that the Colonial Jen Mounts Omega are the #1 best selling darts of 2025 for both steel tip and soft tip! If there's any dart out there that's worthy of the Best in Flight title, it's definitely these darts that deserve the crown for how many times they've sold out time and time again.

In the tapered nose at the front of the barrel, you can see radial grooves and deep axial cuts to provide additional grip. Meanwhile, the rear offers a smooth section with the same deep axial cuts for a unique style. (Note: the soft tip version of the Jen Mounts darts do not have a tapered nose profile; instead, the barrel is more straight.) To finish, these best selling darts are coated with a sleek black titanium nitride, accented by deep red radial bands in the center.

Recommended Grip Style

Due to the scallop feature in the Jen Mounts Omega darts, we recommend a middle grip style where your fingers and thumb will find a consistent grip placement. But, if you're a player with a wide spread grip, you can also take advantage of the various grip references along the entire barrel.

Overall, these darts are not too sharp but not too soft, so they're ideal for a wide variety of players. Truly the #1 best in flight out of all of our best selling darts!

#2.

Harrows Mini Steel Tip Darts - 3gm

Even the smallest of darts can make the biggest impact. We never expected the Harrows Mini steel tip darts to consistently place in the top 10 best selling darts every month, even claiming the 2nd place spot on our 2025 list. Weighing only 3 grams and measuring a measly 3 inches long, these mini darts are surprisingly a challenge to play with, but they're perfect for a light-hearted darts game with friends!

Recommended Grip Style

Because these best selling darts are so incredibly small, you can only really hold them between one finger and your thumb, maybe two fingers if you want to grip into the shaft. But your best bet will be holding it with one finger — just look at the way it fits in our hand model!

The Mini darts feature a tiny bit of knurling on their wide radial bands to help your fingers hold onto the tiny profile better.

Target Luke Littler G1 Soft Tip Darts - 19gm

After successfully defending his title during the 2026 World Championships, Luke Littler's signature barrel remains popular as ever with fans. While we can't promise that these best selling darts will have you throwing like a world champion, the Target Luke Littler G1 darts offer a unique, multi-grip throwing experience. The front has wide bands with short vertical cuts, interrupted in the middle with a smooth section, and then thin radial grooves in the rear. These have been massively popular in the U.S., and it's clear to see his undeniable impact on our industry.

Recommended Grip Style

Despite all the milling throughout the barrel of the Luke Littler G1 darts, Luke himself prefers a more subtle grip with a one-finger hold in the very rear of the barrel where all of those thin radial bands are found.

Players who prefer a slightly more aggressive feel on their hands will enjoy the vertical cuts in the front of the barrel.

#3.

Target Luke Littler G1 Swiss Point Steel Tip Darts - 23gm

As with most signature player barrels, the Luke Littler G1 darts also come in a steel tip version — also our third place best selling darts. The milling is identical to the soft tip version, but there are more weight options ranging from 22 to 24 grams, all with Swiss Points included. There's no difference in grip style between the soft tip version and the steel tip version of these darts, as the milling is exactly the same, aside from the slight barrel length difference between the two, with the soft tip being 47mm.

Colonial Mark McFadden V3 Signature Soft Tip Barrels Only - 18gm

Mark McFadden is one of the fiercest darts players in America, with a success story starting from humble beginnings as a hobbyist. Now, he's a family man with a passion for darts. The Mark McFadden V3 darts are the new and improved version of his previous V2 design, and they're only offered in soft tip. Featuring everything Americans want in a barrel right now — more aggressive milling, a badass color scheme with its gunmetal gray gritty appearance, a long straight profile to suit the majority of grip styles in the U.S., and a great person’s name attached to these best selling darts.

Recommended Grip Style

The simple straight barrel design allows you to use a variety of different grip styles, from a single finger hold with your thumb (as pictured to the right) or even a wide grip spread with multiple fingers along the entire dart.

Overall, we recommend a middle grip for the most balance with these best selling darts. But experiment and see what feels best for you!

#4.

Voks Alaska Mosquito Steel Tip Darts - 5.5gm

We used to think the Voks Alaska Mosquito weren't as popular before we started this top 10 series, but clearly we've been proved wrong! These darts are undeniably one of the most unique darts amongst our best selling darts, known for their extremely thin barrels reminiscent of a mosquito's needle mouth.

Note that the Mosquito darts sold on our website include different flights than the red-white-blue ones pictured above. Shout out to Nate at A-Z for letting us borrow his cooler darts for the photos!

Recommended Grip Style

Most of the weight of these best selling darts is concentrated in the center movable attachment. You can move the weight up and down the thin barrel to adjust the center of gravity to your liking, depending on your favorite grip style.

In our example, our hand model chose to keep the weight in the middle of the mosquito dart to maintain a centered balance, using the length of the weighted attachment for a simple, loose hold.

Winmau Mike Maloney Soft Tip Darts - 20gm

Part of Winmau's expansion into the American world of soft tip darts, the Mike Maloney darts introduced back in 2024 are still a fan favorite for all followers of the Hulk Smash. They've been consistently placing in our top 10 lists every month, so it's a no brainer that they earned a top 4 spot of our best selling darts of the year. The barrel is colorful and unique with green and purple paint along the barrel, plus a holographic flight that will shimmer as you throw. Recently, Winmau also released a steel tip version that sells out quick every month, so get yourself a set of both before they're gone!

Don't forget to check out our full review on the Mike Maloney darts with the button below:

Recommended Grip Style

Like other barrels we're featuring on our best selling darts of the year, the Mike Maloney darts have different grip sections throughout the barrel.

The most aggressive grip comes from the Mike Maloney darts' center bands. The rear is more subtle than the center with the tighter spaced ring cuts - you won’t really feel the purple pattern that’s just decoration. And the front near the tip is pretty smooth unless you have a coil in your throw.

American Pro Dart Woody Steel Tip Darts - 13.5gm White (4 Sets)

American Pro Woody Darts have been an old school American classic steel tip brass dart for decades, and a recurring character of our best selling darts. Each of the American Pro Dart Woody darts is made with one piece of wood running from the nose to the "shaft" and real turkey feathers for the "flight". The weight comes from the brass integrated into the design, so it's heavier than, say, mini darts, but lighter than your typical soft tip dart. You'll get 4 sets of 3 darts in every box of Woody darts you purchase, or $55 for 12 darts, which is a huge steal! They are American-made in Allentown, PA, and the East Coast will sometimes host specifically woody darts tournaments where all competitors must throw these darts.

Recommended Grip Style

The thick torpedo profile of the Woody darts pushes the center of gravity towards the front of the barrel, making a rear grip more ideal to balance the shape and weight.

Because these best selling darts are so lightweight, you won't need to hold them too tight for a firm hold while aiming. They'll fly easily out of your hand, soaring their way into the board in no time.

Colonial 69015 Soft Tip Barrels Only - 18gm

The Colonial 69015 darts provide a new challenge for those unfamiliar with thick torpedo profiles with a short barrel length. Colonial darts overall are a great budget choice amongst our best selling darts, thanks to our commitment to providing inexpensive yet high-quality darts. Each set only comes with the soft tip barrels in the package, so make sure to have your favorite set of soft tip points, shafts, and flights ready to dress your new Colonial darts.

Recommended Grip Style

Like the mini darts, you don't have too much real estate for a full four-finger hold on these best selling darts. Our hand model could barely fit one on the barrel, holding right at the rear where the pairs of thin radial bands live. But, that's right about where you want to hold these darts anyway, as the torpedo shape and milling give hints as to where your fingers should rest.

These darts tend to be front-heavy, but you can adjust that by experimenting with weighted shaft accessories to shift that center of gravity.

#6.

One80 Elmar Paulke Steel Tip Darts Pack - 18gm

Number 6 on our best selling darts is one you might not see often — a special steel tip set for Elmar Paulke, a German TV presenter and commentator known for his darts expertise. The One80 Elmar Paulke steel tip darts pack comes with everything you could need and more for your darts, from extra flights and shafts to a mini mug dart point sharpener and some o-rings. You'll even get a whopping four sets of darts in each box! What a steal.

Recommended Grip Style

Visually, the colored radial grooves in the rear of the Elmar Paulke darts are a great reference point to consistently hold your darts in the same place every time you grab them.

But the long barrel and consistent milling make these best selling darts versatile for players with a wider grip style. It all comes down to your personal preference as a player.

Colonial 69000 Soft Tip Barrels Only - 20gm

Our 6th soft tip choice for best selling darts are none other than the Colonial 69000. These showcase simple radial grooves that any player can enjoy for a classic look and feel on your hands, and thanks to the low price point, they're a great option for new players to begin experimenting with their setup.

Recommended Grip Style

The Colonial 69000 has a similar look and feel to the Elmar Paulke darts, even sporting simple radial grooves throughout the whole tungsten barrel, but without any fancy color coating.

We also volunteer these best selling darts as another versatile pick for most grip styles and a perfect budget option for players still experimenting with their throw. In the example to the right, we chose a middle grip for simplicity.

#7.

Red Dragon Javelin Steel Tip Darts - 24gm

The Red Dragon Javelin darts were one of the best selling darts of summer. Not to be confused with the Javelin Black edition, these Javelin darts are the simple white and silver edition that may seem plain but pack a universal punch that everyone can use no matter their skill level.

Recommended Grip Style

Straight barrels like the Javelin darts are versatile for almost any type of grip style, but both Red Dragon and our team recommend balancing the dart's weight by holding it in the middle.

Whether you're equipping a one-finger hold or even two or three, all sections of the barrel will feel the same on your fingers with the wide radial bands spaced throughout.

Colonial Will Stuart Alpha Soft Tip Barrels Only - 18gm

Who knew the Colonial Will Stuart Alpha darts would become one of the best selling darts of the year?! It's been a while since we've seen Will's darts on the top 10 list for anything since September of 2025, but he's definitely proven himself worthy of the #7 spot on the soft tip darts list.

If you follow darts livestreams, player interviews, or you're heavily involved in local American darts, you've probably heard of or met the King of the Stream himself. His signature Colonial darts take on a classic design with basic radial bands and a unique claw-like section in the middle of the straight profile.

Check out our full product review on the Will Stuart darts by clicking the button below. You won't regret it!

Recommended Grip Style

For someone like Will, who grips the dart quite loosely, the Will Stuart darts won't feel as sharp in the hands. But for players with a tighter grip, it may feel sharper on your fingerpads. It really depends on how you hold the dart in the first place.

This range is ideal for middle grippers as the center of the barrel will provide a consistent reference point for your fingers to hold onto.

Dart World Hornet Steel Tip Darts - 18gm

https://a-zdarts.com/products/10-13101-18-dart-world-hornet-steel-tip-darts-18gm

The soft tip versions of the Dart World Hornet darts were widely popular on our monthly top 10 soft tip darts, but it was the steel tip version that reigned supreme as one of the best selling darts of the year! All Hornet barrels are made with nickel silver barrels and balanced with a cross-hatched knurled grip that won't feel too sharp on your fingers. Note that these darts only use 2ba shafts and 2ba tips, so make sure you have the correct accessories before you try these out.

Recommended Grip Style

Knurling is the main feature of grip for these best selling darts, concentrated at the center of the barrel, though it's not an aggressive or sharp grip by any means. It's still quite soft with the smooth section in the back of the dart.

Take advantage of the knurling with a middle grip. The barrel itself is quite short and bulbous, so you might need to use a one or two-finger hold, like our example.

Colonial 69005 Soft Tip Barrels Only - 18gm

Our Colonial darts mission has always been to mix affordability with popular styles, and the Colonial 69005 darts fill the niche of having upgraded cuts from the standard radial bands. You can see widely spaced bands throughout the barrel, capped by smooth sections in the front and rear. But the most interesting part of these best selling darts is the chainsaw-like milling cutting through the radial bands.

Recommended Grip Style

Even though the chainsaw-like bands throughout the Colonial 69005 barrel certainly bite at your fingers, the smooth sections inbetween really soften up the grip overall. It's a great intermediate grip intensity that soft hands and rough hands could definitely take advantage of. A middle grip will work well with these best selling darts.

#9.

Colonial 59004 Steel Tip Barrels Only - 22gm

Coming in at 9th place of our best selling darts, we haven't seen the Colonial 59004 since last June on our steel tip list. It's one of the few tapered, carrot-shaped darts on our list, coming in from the smooth section at the very rear of the dart. Perfect for tight groupings since the slim nose profile creates the most space for your next incoming dart on the board. Just look at the way they lie in the treble 20 section in our photo above.

Recommended Grip Style

With the Colonial 59004, you'll want to take advantage of those stacked radial bands and grip somewhere between the front and middle of the barrel, avoiding the smooth section in the back that lacks intensity. These darts are very rear weighted, so the frontal grip will help balance the darts in your hand.

Laserdarts Black Widow Knurled Soft Tip Darts - 18gm

The Laserdarts Black Widow Knurled darts are true to their name with a striking black and red design that's reminiscent of their arachnid inspiration. Adding to the knurling for grip, each barrel is treated with a durable coating in high-heat furnaces and etched with the iconic black widow symbol at the top. Plus, they're 100% made in America since 1985, so you're supporting American workers by purchasing these darts!

Recommended Grip Style

The knurling on these darts is almost unavoidable, no matter where or how you choose to hold the dart. We recommend a middle grip, right along the wide middle section that's nicely spaced out by thinner smooth sections and more knurling. Even the rear of the barrel packs a small punch, sporting three radial grooves to offset the smoothness.

#10.

Red Dragon Tyrian Steel Tip Darts - 24gm

Closing out our best selling darts list with a bang, the Red Dragon Tyrian darts are a sight to behold with a colorful barrel that shifts from purple to pink depending on how you hold them. From one angle, they're pink, but move just a little bit, and suddenly they're a nice shade of purple. On top of the multicolor appearance, they've got a uniform ring grip from front to back.

Recommended Grip Style

How you choose to grip the Tyrian darts depends on what kind of grip intensity you prefer: sharper for rougher hands or smoother for softer hands. Compared to the smoother front half with only simple radial grooves, the checkered pattern of alternating horizontal and vertical cuts in the rear half gives a rough grip.

Our hand model is gripping the middle of the dart for the rougher texture and added grip so that the darts slip less as they throw.

Colonial 69020 Soft Tip Barrels Only - 20gm

Last but not least of our best selling darts, we can't forget about the Colonial 69020! The shape of these barrels can only be described as dynamic, with a scallop leading into a much wider middle section, then tapering back into the rear, which is just a bit slimmer than the nose of the barrel. Ring cuts are stacked in steps of varying diameters to create that dynamic shape, as well as add grip. The completely smooth nose will help with tighter groupings.

Recommended Grip Style

Front grippers will love the Colonial 69020 because the scallop in the front carves out a perfect grip reference point on the barrel, similar to the Jen Mounts profile from our number one best selling darts.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

As with all top 10 lists, there were a few darts that just barely missed the cut for our best selling darts of the year. But we still wanted to showcase these darts as they were clearly a favorite for many people. Here are some honorable mentions for the best selling darts of 2025:

FINAL THOUGHTS

That wraps up our best selling darts of 2025, from old familiar favorites to a few new faces. Hopefully you found your next dart obsession somewhere along the way. We'll see you next year for the next edition of best selling darts of the year!
