975 Ultra Marine Darts Range by Target - Product Review

Target once again pushed the boundaries of innovative design for the 975 Ultra Marine Darts Range by introducing unique product design and packaging in a vivid ultramarine color that would catch the eye of any dart lover.
The 975 Ultra Marine design drew its inspiration from the deep sea abyss as its most striking feature is the deep blue color seen across the packaging and presentation box.
Jen Mounts gives you an in-depth review and unboxing of the 975 Ultra Marine Dart Range by Target. She compares the soft tip model 10 and the steel tip models 01, 02, and 03 in a barrel closeup overview while giving an overview of the design and grip intensity.
We get to see a performance test of each model with some throwing action and the video ends with a breakdown of the presentation box covering all accessories that come with the 975 ultra marine darts. Let’s go over each aspect one by one:
The 975 Ultra Marine darts range features common themes that all available models share including cuts, grip, K-Flex system, Target Swiss Nano and the presentation box.
CNC Milling Machines Are Used to Create Advanced and Intricate Grip Designs.
Taking inspiration from the Elysian 7, the 975 Ultra Marine features a CNC machined fragmented wavy grip across the core barrel design, giving the darts a luxury feel.
A unique slash made with nano cut technology cuts across the barrel as the centerpiece, which is unlike any other dart previously produced by Target.
As you rotate the barrel the nano slash reveals more micro grooves that offer an intense grippy feel.
We rate the entire 975 Ultra Marine range with a grip intensity of a whopping 5 out of 5! The sculptured wavy grip section is so aggressive it over shadows the naturally smoother nano slash sections (which are more like a 3½ or 4 out of 5). The nano sections won't have a major effect on the overall grip intensity because you're never guaranteed to grip right into it since part of your fingers will always be sort of resting in the radial grooves.
Instead of the standard titanium shaft, the 975 Ultra Marine is fashioned with the brand new Target K-Flex which fuses the flight and shaft into a one piece system.
All 975s are fitted with the brand new K-Flex molded flight and shaft one piece system, themed in this range's signature ultramarine color. It offers a lightweight, durable flight system that will keep your shots in the perfect angle in the air.
Every 975 dart derives it's name from the fact that each barrel is made from an incredible 97.5% tungsten metal makeup. This creates the possibility of a more dense and slimmer dart.
97.5% is the highest tungsten density Target has been able to achieve to date.
STEEL TIP
SOFT TIP
The only differences between the 975 Ultra Marine dart models are the barrel shapes and tiny variations in length and diameter. All cuts, grip and design are uniform across the board.
There are 4 total options available (3 steel tip labeled 01-03 and 1 soft tip barrel labeled 10) with multiple barrel weights for each option. Let’s start by comparing the steel tip 01 & the soft tip 10 since they are almost an exact match.
The 975 Ultra Marine 01 and 10 models are both a straight barrel shape with consistent diameter throughout.
However, the the soft tip model 10 version is noticeably shorter in length than the steep tip 01 variation and it has a slightly skinnier diameter.
View the various weight options that we carry below:
The 975 Ultra Marine 02 model is slightly front loaded with a cone front end nose. The rear diameter of this 23g example is about 6mm whereas the front end is closer to 7mm achieving a subtle front loaded barrel shape.
Finally the 03 975 Ultra Marine model offers a torpedo-esque shape with more of a tapered nose - opposite to the front loaded 02.
Note: All 3 steel tip variations have the same overall length. You can view the various weight options that we carry for steel tip models 02 and 03 below:
